Practice, design and theory. Combined in one person.

I combine practical knowledge from installation and design with the theoretical foundation of an electrical engineer. This combination is no coincidence. It is the result of a career in which each step builds on the last.

The foundation: craftsmanship and technology

I come from a family of craftsmen. Technical understanding, diligence and responsibility for my own work shaped me early on. That mindset still defines how I work today. I want to understand how a system works. Only then do I decide how it can work better.

That is the foundation I have built on, step by step.

Three stages, each building on the last

1. Execution: knowing systems from the inside

It all started with hands-on work. As an electrician, I installed switchgear, automation and building services systems and resolved faults in complex installations. I designed, planned and implemented control and automation solutions myself. At the Research Center for Energy Economics, I went on to build battery storage systems as an electrical engineer.

2. Design and client representation: major construction projects

With this practical knowledge, I moved into electrical design. At Ingenieurbüro Spiegl in Munich, I worked as a project engineer and designer on major construction projects across all HOAI work stages. At Helmholtz Zentrum München, I sat on the other side of the table: as client representative, I coordinated and supervised the construction projects on the Munich campus. So I know construction projects from the designer’s and the client’s perspective.

3. Teaching: passing knowledge on

Today, I pass on my knowledge of installation and design as a lecturer at IU International University of Applied Sciences. I am responsible for the Electronic Circuit Design module and teach Electrical Machines and Energy Technology. Teaching technology requires mastering it in depth.

This is how I built a broad range of expertise. At its centre is electrical design for building services. Execution, energy technology and teaching make it stronger.

Looking for an electrical designer equally at home in design and execution?

How I work

Designing with execution in mind

Because I have installed systems myself, I design them so they can actually be built. That helps avoid queries, change orders and delays on site. And it builds trust between design and execution.

The client’s goals in view

From client representation, I know what owners expect: cost certainty, reliable schedules and a system that works in operation. I keep these goals in view at every work stage.

Compliant, safe, documented

Safety and compliance with standards are my top priority. I design to DIN VDE 0100 and DIN 18015, hold switching authorisation and know fire alarm, gas detection and emergency power systems from practice. I document every solution clearly.

Clear communication

As a lecturer, I explain complex technology so it is understood. I use the same skill in projects: in coordination with clients, architects, specialist designers and trades.

Let’s talk about your project.

Electrical design, client representation or a design that has to match execution: wherever design and practice must come together, I bring exactly that combination.
